SHORT MESSAGE AND PRAYER MANUAL

Jesus Family,

Count yourself lucky and blessed to receive this important message and divine call to involvement and action. You can not be an exception to this timely invitation to belong to Jesus family. This note is simply a reminder to what you see, live with, teach, respect and somewhat propagate devotion to it.

Certainly you will be well informed through this short message of how to worship God, Love God and neighbor and teach people hew to do it better.

Perhaps, one of the most distinguishing characteristic of man is that he is a being with a thought

and hope for the future. Since the dawn of creation and civilization mankind has always hoped and schemed for a better tomorrow.

My dear friend, the future is bright, a rescuer has come, a comforter has emerged, the redeemer has been revisited. He has come to save his people. His name is Jesus, and His way of peace and salvation is the Eucharistic League Movement.

EUCHARISTIC LEAGUE MOVEMENT

This is an organized group of men, woman and children from all works of life who come together for serious and intensive sharing in the life of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the center of the Christian life. Around it revolves the whole mystery of the incarnation, life, suffering, death and resurrection of Christ.

Aware of its uniqueness, the Catholic church has since the dawn of salvation ever had numerous veneration and homage's to the Eucharistic Lord who is REALLY PRESENT not only during the mass but also in the Eucharistic tabernacle.

Having promoted all the various aspects of the Eucharist for more than a decade now under the Auspices of the Catholic Eucharistic Ministry, the founder and animator Rev. Father John Ugobueze felt that it is most appropriate and even urgent that a special group of men and women from various works of life be trained to propagate various types of devotions to the Eucharistic Lord. This is the reason why a special group to be known and addressed as the Catholic Eucharistic League Movement has merged.

Thanks be to God, the Catholic Eucharistic Prayer Ministry has given birth to a new baby known and called the Catholic Eucharistic League Movement (C.E.L.M.). The primary aim of this movement has been the conversion of or the redirection of many Christians from their neo-paganistic tendencies to the pure Christian fellowship with all the Catholic values. As the ministry is centered essentially on Christ in the Eucharist, the Eucharistic League is to help in propagating in a most special way devotion to the Eucharist.

Such practices as Eucharistic congress, Eucharistic Encounter, Eucharistic Procession, Eucharistic Adoration, Perpetual Adoration, the practice of the Holy hour are expressions of the greatness of the sacrament which is most Holy, Divine to all who praise and all thanksgiving belongs every moment. These practices serve as some of the ways the movement carries out her operation.

THE FUNCTION

The members of the Movement live an entirely Eucharistic centered Spirituality. They are to preach and propagate true devotion to the Eucharist. They are to be leaders in teaching about Adoration, Holy hour, and preparing new members for the reception of first holy communion.

Reaching out to encounter Jesus in the sick, those in hospices and hospitals, identifying with the marginalized and the oppressed, etc.

The League is to organize Eucharistic and public rallies to educate th people on the Eucharist. They are to engage in special Apostolate of the press, using new letters, pamphlets, radio, television and the internet to drive the message home to all peoples irrespective of creed. They are to organize regular parish and Archdiocesan Eucharist congresses without prejudice to the already existing ones. They are to organize and keep a special time when people bring in their prayer requests to the Eucharistic Lord.

Since the Eucharistic League is centered on the whole Christ who gave himself for others, members are bound to contribute and specially care for the less privileged, sick and needy not only in the league but also in the entire society.

My dear Jesus family, the Eucharistic league has over the past decade, carried out some of these similar activities and the results have been tremendous. One of the Eucharistic Encounter meetings is one hour in length and basically it is an opportunity for you to have a personal "encounter" with Jesus.

Jesus is present in the Eucharist throughout the entire ceremony. During this time, you have a chance to talk personally with Jesus as you would to your best friend, about problems or concerns you have and ask for His help. It is truly an inspiring and uplifting experience to "get these things off your chest" and know that Jesus wants to hear about them and more importantly, wants to help and wants us to ask for His help.

So if you feel as though there is something missing in your life, give Jesus a chance to fill that emptiness by letting Him help you in His way, which is the best way. As quoted in Jemeriah, 29: 11,

" For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We invite you to join this Eucharist League Movement. Membership in the movement is open to every baptized Christian. Become a member of the movement and encounter Jesus Christ in the

Eucharist Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity and become a true Disciple in His Most Holy Sacrament, the Eucharist. The child really has a promising future because "a

child is a mother of a man" and "you can only know the taste of the pudding by eating". Why don't you enroll as a member of this family? Why not tell people more about the goodness of the Lord. So allow Christ to use you, know him more, live more like him, love him more, teach people more about him, adore him more so that you can realize his magnanimity, loving care and mercy, in life and in death. In the mean time, thousands of people have enrolled as members in parishes in Nigeria and the United States. PRAYER BEFORE THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

My Lord Jesus, we are indebted to you because of the great Love that is manifested when you suffered and died on the cross for my salvation. It is the same Love that made you give yourself to me in the Eucharist. No wonder then you children yearn to be with you morning, noon and night in the Blessed Sacrament. Thank you for making yourself edible and available for me to eat and visit especially in the tabernacle of Love and compassion. You do not despise ant one who wants to know you and invite us to eat and adore you always. I whole heatedly believe that you are ever present in the Blessed Sacrament. I adore you, I give you thanks for your compassion and your Mother who intercedes for me and your body the church and all the graces bestowed on me to assist me overcome the chains of temptations and all the changes and chances that come across me in this world. It is my desire and intention to adore you on a daily basis, to love you especially in my neighbor and above all make people know you and what you stand for us sinners.

Now my compassionate Jesus, I speak to you as I would talk to my Mother. There are people, things and problems I would want to recommend to your compassionate and Loving care ( name them ______ ). Your relations, your friends, members. I earnestly kneel in front of you for mercy, to allow a drop of your blood to fall upon your creatures in need of your relief for their various types of bondage - physical, psychological, moral, spiritual, social, economic, etc.

These predicaments have made my soul dreadful of pains and diseases. There is in us a vague fear, anxiety which seems illogical and yet disturbs and torments your children.

Sweet Jesus, we trust in your providential care, we resolve always ever to be friendly and never neglect, remain indifferent to your name hence the fear in us has been dispelled. Today it has been marked with affection and successes.

I thank you and promise firmly to devote myself to learning, teaching, living, adoring and propagating devotion to you compassionate Jesus in the Blessed sacrament. AMEN.

Jesus, be in me, over me, before and near me. May the most Holy Name

of Jesus be my defense against all evils, assaults and temptations. May the most

Holy Name of Jesus shield me from all bad thoughts, all despondency and despair;

May the most Holy Name of Jesus constitute my unshakable confidence, my power and strength, my hope and assurance in life and in death. AMEN.
